Default Watch out for this scammer

Well today, i was looking for a Runner to Copperhammer Mines on my lv 8 Necro, so some guy said he will run me, his name was ***name edited***,

So like always, i always tell runners, if they are sure they can make it, incase they lie and take the money, so he said he made it 3 times 100% success, i said ok. He also said he works for Anet and is a admin, at first i thought to myself, he is probably lieing then i thought, isnt it illegal to be an admin if u arent, so i thought maybe he isnt lieing. So then he said come to Drok Dis 5, and i did he was waiting at storage, so anyway i go to him gave him and he said pay 4k up front, and 4k there i said ok. Next he puts me on ignore and leaves.

I am certian he did this before, so just watch out for ***name edited***, i took screens and reported him, i hope he does get what he deserves.

well, i was in great need for the run, i needed to get a skill from there badly, the fact that i lost money doesnt matter, but the thing is that he does it to many other ppl, for me the loss of 4k is nothing, but for some others the loss of 4k is alot. Reason i put his name down so that people WILL know to watch out for him. This was my first time paying upfront, but i spent a while looking for a runner since i tried to run there with hench and failed.

no, it's forum rules to not put names of other players down ever

edit it yourself before it gets edited for you

oddly enough, it's pretty much the only forum rule i give a shit about and agree with

Here's the reason why there is that forum policy:

How do we know you aren't lying yourself, and just looking to make someone else sound bad?

Since we don't know both sides of the story, it isn't fair to set forth these preconceived notions about other players. That player could in fact be a member of this board, and might have taken great offense to what you just said.

And... yeah. Reading your original post made my eyes hurt. Please try to use somewhat correct grammar when posting on a message board. This isn't instant messaging... you can edit what you're going to say before entering it, and people won't notice. Not to mention it makes you look... less intelligent to have horrible spelling.

I saw this group of skinny and most likely homeless people once in a back alley and they were injecting something into their wrists. At first I thought to myself, they're probably taking drugs, but then I thought, isn't it illegal to take drugs? So I thought maybe they were just taking prescription medicine.

Grow a brain kid.

Ok. The guy comes in and tells you his story about he got scammed, trying to help other people. He didnt flame anyone but the person that he claims scammed him, and every reply is about how stupid he is, telling him everything hes done wrong in his post, and telling him to grow a brain.

Are you sure its not the people replying that need to grow a brain? I dont get why everybody is so hostile.

I dont think 8k is too much for a run, if you have the money then u pay it. Some people pay up to 100 k for runs.

I agree that you should not have paid up front, but if the solution is, : 'Dont trust anyone, you are stupid for thinking people are honest' making more people think like this is really going to make one happy community where no one trusts anyone. Great

The fact that he thought he was an admin simply because the guy said so is enough to comment on his intelligence, or rather his lack thereof. Not to mention his horrible grammar and disregard for the forum rules. To make it even better, he payed upfront and is now complaining about how he got scammed. I don't care about trusting/not trusting people, but if you're going to trust someone you don't know enough to pay up front, don't complain when he takes the money and runs. Tell your friends who he is, write his name down on your blacklist, just don't waste bandwidth on a forum and especially when you share the same level of communication with a 1st grader.

"This dude is totally a scammer" threads like this doesn't really help anyone. If you have enough money to pay more than 100K for something or pay someone to run you through the game in advance, you honestly should have enough common sense to realize you're running a risk. Most people on the forums do.

Your only real option in dealing with someone who defrauds you is reporting him to Anet.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Guild Wars admins sit around in random districts and run people for money Oh, but wait! Of course! You got scammed by an admin!

Jesus, any noob that falls for anyone saying they're an admin deserves to have all their cash scammed -.-

Forums are simply not a great place to get sympathy when you did something that's partially/mostly your fault.

Both Guild Wars forums I go to have a pretty hard stance on threads detailing in game grievances with another player. This is not the place to bring your personal vendettas nor is it a resource for players to avoid. I understand that evilmadboy may be mad, but he and others still should respect that.

ummm... this isnt damn english class, i could type the way i want to type. God a problem deal with it, o wow, his poor gramer who really gives a damn just idiots like you do. And i didnt really think he was an admin. I am always carefull, and i dont trust many people, but i was in need of a run. When he told me he works for Anet and that screenshots dont do much ,i did have my suspicions so thats why i took screenshots of everything he was saying and when i got scammed. Want proof ill post the screenshots if you want to see them your self to. Impersonating a Admin is a big offence so i didnt Actually think he would really have the guts to say that. Yes this was partly on my fault as i didnt really pay to much attention. I am not really pissed off that i was scammed, but i hate how people do this to newbs. THATS what i posted this i wanted to let people know who he is, and what he did so they dont make same mistake as me.
And Shinsei i dont know what the **** is your problem, you are nothing but a dumb idiot flamer, here i am trying to let people know and you are flaming, for all i know, you are probably the scammer, and there you are thinking you are smart, maybe you are, maybe you are a geek who has no friends and ugly as hell, who has no life so nothing to do, goes to forums acting all big and bad where in reality you are nothing.

fyi.. i really do have screenshots, i can just host them and post some if you want. But i am pretty sure he will get banned, if not for scamming for Impersonating.
